Pipe has three layer PE antisepsis structure: the first layer with epoxy powder (FBE> 100um), the second layer with adhesive (AD), 170 ~ 250um, the third layer with polyethylene (PE) 2.5 ~ 3.7mm. integration of them and solid steel pipe make form a good coating.

Pipe has three layer PE antisepsis structure: the first layer with epoxy powder (FBE> 100um), the second layer with adhesive (AD), 170 ~ 250um, the third layer with polyethylene (PE) 2.5 ~ 3.7mm. integration of them and solid steel pipe make form a good coating. Diameter range 60mm-1420mm, wall thickness 2.5-18mm, which is a good anti-corrosion method, generally can improve the service life of 50 years, not only extended the replacement cycle of the underground plumbing, and significant cost savings for the provides a strong role in nation-building. 3PE anti-corrosion is the most commonly used method of anti-corrosion, in addition to 2PE, 2PP, 3PP, their manufacturing process is similar to but different raw materials, this anti-corrosion characteristics of the simple fabrication process, the preservative effect, inexpensive pipe manufacturing industry generally agree that corrosion

3PE anticorrosive steel pipe characteristics:
1,very high tightness,which can greatly save energy, reduce costs, protect the environment in long-term operation.
2, strong corrosion resistance, the construction side simply speed, the service life can be up to 30-50 years.
3, with good resistance to corrosion and impact resistance, low water absorption, the PE (less than 0.01%) at low temperatures.
4, high strength epoxy, PE absorbent and hot melt adhesive softness, etc., have high corrosion reliability.


Why external 3PE coating?

In long distance conveyance of crude oil, natural gas or refined oil, the pipeline usually need to be buried underground. When steel pipes or pipe fittings are in contact with soil and waters, we must consider its external anti-corrosion performance to ensure a durable lifespan of the pipeline. The three layers polyethylene(3PE/3LPE) external coating perfectly solves this problem. It consists of a high performance fusion bonded epoxy(FBE) layer, an adhesive layer and an outer layer of high density polyethylene. The three layers external coating has excellent resistance to abrasion, wear, acid, alkali and cathodic disbonding, etc.


The production process of three layers polyethylene external coating

Unless otherwise specified by the purchaser, the 3PE(also called 3LPE) coating will be produced and inspected as per EN DIN 30670: Polyethylene coatings for steel pipes and fittings.

As illustrated in the flow chart above, 

1)All bare pipes or fittings should be preheated first then clean the external surface by sand-blasting and grinding. 

2) After surface inspection, qualified pipes will be conveyed to the facility to take final surface treatment to remove even tiny dust from the pipe external surface. 

3) Mid-frequency induction heating.

4) Fusion Bonded Epoxy coating.

5) Extrude or spray copolymer adhesive.

6) Extrude the polyethylene layer. Make sure it's wounded onto the adhesive layer correctly.

7) Quenching by circulating cold water.

8) Standard inspection as per EN DIN 30670.

9) Packaged and stocked.
